When I was youn-ge-r,
I saw my daddy cry.
And curse at the wind.
He broke his own heart,
and I watched,
as he tried to re-as-sem-ble it.
And my mom-ma swore that
she would ne-ver let her-self for-get.
And that was the day that I pro-mised,
I'd ne-ver sing of love,
if it does not exist.
But darl-in--g,
you are the on-ly ex-cep-tion.
You are the on-ly ex-cep-tion.
You are the on-ly ex-cep-tion.
You are the on-ly ex-cep-tion.
