Your microphone

The practice coach can listen through your microphone when you choose Play along. The sound is analysed in your browser to work out which note you’re playing. It is never recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else. Recordings you upload to Check a recording are also processed only in your browser.

Likes

When you like a tab, we store the like count for that tab. To stop the same person liking a tab many times, we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your internet address and the tab, for up to a year. We can’t turn that code back into your address.

Forms

When you submit a tab or send us a message, the details you enter (such as your name, email address and the tab) are collected by our form provider and sent to us. We use them only to review your tab, credit you if you asked us to, and reply to you.

Advertising

This site shows ads to keep it free. Our advertising partner and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure them. Where the law requires it, you’ll be asked for consent first, and you can change your choices at any time.

Hosting and fonts

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts load.
